Honda ATV Survey

I just received a survey in the mail with a crisp new dollar bill lol

What would be your biggest complaint with your new Honda atv? Mine would be the low top speed (which I knew BEFORE purchasing.) Other than that I'm VERY satisfied with my purchase.

I can't really complain about anything.

I have had 0 problems with my 2016..

Top speed is probably my only complaint as well... But that ok! I can live with it!

It doesn't matter if its a 400 or a 800... Once you get used to something, you always want more jam!

I'm fine with my 50mph top speed (2016 Honda Rancher 4x4 DCT EPS) because I like that it keeps me from going faster. It's like an imposed safety stop, and so to keep from revving it too high all the time, I run at about 40-45.

My only complaint - mine makes a lot of valve noise, despite repeated professional valve checks. It runs fine, so it's no big deal, but I ALWAYS have this curiosity if something is not quite right. Just enough to bug me ever so slightly that I worry about it.

It has to crank too long before starting.
I don't care so much about top speed, it's more about keeping up with the group once you get out on the flats. I just move to the side let everyone go by and say see you f**k*rs in the woods lol
Needs mo powa! Don't care about top speed I'm fine with going 40mph as long as it does 0-40 in about 2 seconds.

I do wish the engine/tank cover was a little easier to get back on. I've come up with some tricks (oil on the male appendages) to get everything to pop back together better, but still wish it was a little easier, or more intuitive. But it's really a non-issue.
Honda should provide a stock towing kit for the broken can-ams in the group, it's always broken axle, broken belt or the bolts fell out!

I have never owned a brand new atv ?, newest atv I have is still being built !..lol. but if I was to complain about anything ?, it would be Honda not using disk brakes all the way around on their atvs !. they should have dumped drum brakes years ago !. power and speed does not bother me one bit, at my age ?, I could care less, now..maybe back in my teens ?, then yeah..i'd want this !..lol. my only other complaint ?, is I wish they would make the front and rear racks better ?, like put something on the paint to keep stuff from sliding all over ?, maybe make them with a short basket type, with skid resistant surface ?.

Top speed...should be comparable to older machines it replaced.... & shifting is too slow (ESP). I dont care how much you grease it lol. I really like the comfort of the new Rubicon, & the bar position seems just right. Susp is nice too.
I don't and have never owned a new Honda.
I don't like the sound of electronic shifting, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, also, power... They should offer a stock engine and a tuned more powerful engine throughout the range that you can spec when buying new.
I'm with shade here, disc brakes should be on every ATV, drums are a thing of the past
next would be more HP, and a HIGH LOW range transfer case on utility models would be nice IMO
so those that work an ATV have the low end, and those that trail ride same ATV can have the top end!

next would be optional BETTER SHOCK packages, WHY now off better?? I am sure many of the pure trail guys would LOVE this option

High and low Would be epic on a Honda I must admit, would suit everybody, work, mudding, trail riding.. This could actually be a very, very good selling point if they offered this on new ATV's.

Forgot about shocks, the ones that come on the Rubicons including the so called deluxe model are rubbish.

As far as disks all around all the IRS machines have this, I would like to see them go from the single rotor on the prop shaft to a dual rear brake setup. The drum on the rear of the SRA machines works OK, it's hard to put a disk on the SRA and keep it protected, I think widening the axle and running IRS style rear wheels would work, I never really understood the point to SRA wheels vs. a wider axle on more modern ATV's.

The Rubicon has High and Low in their DCT, the Rancher AT and Rincon NEED the subtrans as well. The S/ES machines really don't need it, the same thing could be accomplished by adding a 6th gear and starting with 1st a little lower than it is now.

THAT< or on there auto's add an Overdrive like in a car/truck, to have a much higher gearing for travelling with speed, that kicks in at certain speeds
a big up shift to pull the RPM"s down when cruising!
5th gear is an OD gear, 0.848:1 on the 500's for example.
A lot of good info here! Forgot about starting hesitation. I will def put that in my review and about the top speed, low HP. And I agree with the putting the center piece back on. I greased the tip on the males and it makes it a little easier to argue that thing into place lol

I doubt my survey will do anything but why the heck not try. They did pay me a dollar after all... :funnyhonda:
disc brakes is a good one ----------- led lights instead of bulbs , don't know maybe new models are already that way ----- more factory accessories

No new Honda ATV's here for me. But I will ask for one thing - gauges. Give me an oil temp gauge and a cylinder head temp gauge. Maybe a DC voltmeter and a tachometer.

Call me crazy but I like gauges.
