If I directly connect wires from the bikes battery to the posts on the shift motor will it spin?

You have to ground one side, and apply voltage to the other.

IIRC, a full 12V doesn't go to the motor though. Might want to look up the troubleshooting section in the factory service manual.

Appreciate it! Just trying to bump it to see if the motor any good. I connected Red and black from the bikes battery to each side of the posts and it didn't spin. I know it uses only 6v but I thought maybe I could at least test it with wiring directly. I got a code 24 but ya never know.
