I have a 2012 420 footshift. It has 10,000km and smoking bad so I could do the top end. However I have found a 420 engine from an 09 that is the auto es. He has all the electrics switches ect with it.

Is this swap doable or just way too much work? Opinions?

If it's an ES, it will swap if you have all the wiring harness, ECU, etc.

If it's a Rancher AT with the automatic or ES, then the motor mounts etc will all be different.

Honestly, even if it's an ES, I would redo the top end on yours. You don't know what you're getting with a used motor, and a footshift is much better than an ES machine.
