Hello
can someone please tell me where the gas line off the bottom of the carburetor connects to???? this line appears to have a small device in it.

That hose is for the float bowl drain and it has a check valve in the hose. It probably slips into a loop, or is clamped on the swingarm or the frame down low... see the two attached images taken from the FSM for your Rancher.
