Planning some fender work on the old farm '88 TRX300 2wd. Anyone have experience with these red colours, wondering if they're different shades of red or the exact same? Seems like an even split with people I've asked so far. Some say same, some say different, lol.

Passion Red R109, 1988-1997 300's
Patriot Red R232, 1998-2000 300's

Different "R" codes so that makes me think they're two different ones but maybe it was just a thing to say Honda changed something after a decade of running the same colour, lol. I can only speak for Passion Red, not sure if I've ever seen Patriot Red close up/side by side to tell if there's actually a difference.

Any thoughts or past experience?

Amazon has an R109 and R232 patriot red spray

They are different shades and you're really going to notice it if you start mismatching parts.

Thanks guys. Need to eventually replace these anyway so I'll get a new battery cover in Patriot and a new side cover in Passion and then carry on from there. If the colours are way off then the battery cover won't be that noticeable.
