Are you buying brand new? If so get the YFZ450X. If you are buying an 08 or older get the TRX. At the same time, both of the machines are completely different when it comes to ergonomics. I despise the way the Yamahas are setup. They are very uncomfortable, of course that is opinion. Make sure you sit on both before you get your heart set on one.

I agree with Red, my buddy has a yfz and is very uncomfortable to ride. To me it feels like I am sitting on a dirt bike with four wheels. And mudd, he said he wanted something fast in the woods, although I do agree with you too the 400 is a very nice overall machine. Havent rode a 700xx anyone here have good unbiased opinion?
