Hey guys,
Thought you might like to hear about the hmf exhaust with optimizer.
Installation
The exhaust slips on easier than the stock one, and has a new clamp to slide over it to attach to header. 2 bolts to stock mount and shes on. For the optimizer you remove the white plastic piece covering the injector wires.
theres only 2 plugs under there and only 1 fits in the optimizer plug in, and its the one closest to gas tank on top. You unplug it and plug male into female and vice versa... You then need to ground it, so find any bolt that has a solid contact to metal, and run the ground to it... I attached mine to a bolt holding the 4x4 selector in place. For the controller I ran it under the platic up the bars to the right of the light switches. I made an aluminum plate that is attached to the winch selector, to put the velcro on. Then thats it.
Result
When you adjust the airfuel mixture with the optimizer properly you will notice it runs with no gurgling and has more power and TORQUE! It has big balls on low end compared to stock. Mid and High range are improved significantly to. The quad is way louder and was totally worth the money. I got the exhaust in red for an extra 20$ and turned out amazing. Comes in silver standard.:rating10:

I live at about the same elevation as the HMF guys so I didn't have to do anything to mine. The only time I had problems was when the temps got over the century mark. You may shoot the HMF Techs an email and give them your elevation and amb. temp. and see if they can give you some numbers. Other wise its like rejetting but easier(no carb. to pull apart) LOL. It will be trial and error. Sorry I was not much help at all, but good luck.

I don't see that 1-3 HP gain would be worth it for me living in Manitoba Canada. The Honda ecu should auto adjust fuel depending on temp outside and our temps here are not consistant at all so I would be adjusting all the time. We could be 100F one day and 60F a few days later. Winter here is between 0 and -30. If I had to play around with the optimizer everytime I wanted to go ride I wouldn't even want to go ride. IMO let honda's ecu take care of your fuel map for you.

How much does that kit run and where did you get it from? Is the optimizer water proof or have you even tested it in mud/water yet?

I Got mine from atvoutfitters.net,I got the Performance kit. Pipe ,Optimizer and uni-filter. for around 460.00 shipped to the house.
The Optimizer is water resistant not waterproof, allot guys put them inside a plano waterproof box and mount under the seat. The hardest part of the install for me was getting the stock pipe off. But it was worth it, it improved the low to mid torque , after i installed it i went out on the Lake and was cutting donuts in 7-8 inches of snow with out bogging down. I also noticed that it doesn't fall on it's face anymore when i hit 5th gear.

Well I have the pc5 and the big gun evo on mine and my buddy has an 09 rancher 4x4 with the hmf optimizer and hmf and he can't even keep up with me. Not ragging on hmf just saying mine is definitely a lot quicker
