A big HI to everyone!
Yeah, another newbie to ATV's (but I do have nearly 400,000 miles on two wheelers). I sold my last motorcycle about a year ago, mainly due to being 68 but more so due to the cellphone-using idiots out there that are hell bent on putting me into a ditch, or worse.
A 2017 Honda Rancher "followed me home" this past April; I have taken the ATV Safety Course (at the Honda headquarters in Alpharetta, GA)..and have 60 miles on the ATV riding around some property in my subdivision.
I just got a trailer yesterday and am ready to head out into the GA Outdoors to do some exploring of the ORV/ATV areas around the state.
I just wanted to say hi and let you know I may be asking some questions here and there. I did buy a manual for the Rancher and am able to do a lot of maintenance stuff on my own (having owned 15 motorcycles over the years...you HAD to be able to do some work yourself! :)
I like the site here so far from what I've seen and maybe, just maybe, I can trade a little of my knowledge for some of the knowledge you have on these 4 wheeled machines!

Cheers!

Welcome to the forums. You will find many great folks here to interact with regarding Honda's. The Honda Rancher is a very popular option/choice and you will get many years out of it. The major things to consider when servicing it would be and in my opinion are: a) be sure to use the correct/approved engine oil and insert the oil filter in correctly; b) inspect the air filter; c) do what is shown in the manual for everything else regarding service and d) go enjoy the unit :)
