Here is one of the videos I have.. this was me playing around with the lid off the air box (of course filter still in place).YouTube - Hona 300 001-3.wmv
i guess they used wide tires back then.oh well...lol..yeah..it prob was just the camera strap i was hearing...anyway..the video looked really good for that bike..sounded really good when you were shifting going up and down the road...i finally got to test ride mine today up and down the street....it's a pain to turn it around..found this out..lol..and the shifting gears seems alittle tough to change..i might have to tinker with my clutch adjustment..see if i can make it shift easier..although..after getting it back to the house..i noticed my shifting lever arm was moving...i knew this probally would happen back when i was rebuilding it..the teeth looked really worn...soo...i had to try a quick fix..but..it is just to far gone..now i've got to get me either a new one..or one from my parts back up bike..lmao..i havent gotten the one off the parts bike yet..it got dark..and i was tired from doing some other stuff around the house today..i'll try to get to that prob some time tomorrow..or sat..other than that..she road pretty good !I'm not sure what you were hearing I'd have to listen to it again but I think what you heard was the strap of the camera slapping the side of the camera. The tires are the correct size although I think they are a little low on air. I'll listen again and see if I hear what you hear.
Good to hear I'm glad your hard work is paying off cuz I can tell you put plenty into it. You could see in the vid that I need new rear plastic, barbed wire is a bitch on plastic fenders. Yeah I checked on bike bandit and the rear tires are the correct size. I think the 4wd bikes maybe had narrower tires on the back or maybe it was later years I'm not sure. It had 1 size too big tires on the front and I've got one of them replaced with the correct size the other one I'll replace here this summer. All in all it runs good for its age and you are right it doesn't smoke, normally, the only time I've seen it smoke was when I had it wound up stuck in the mud trying to get out. That was probably just excess pressure in the crankcase I'm guessing.i guess they used wide tires back then.oh well...lol..yeah..it prob was just the camera strap i was hearing...anyway..the video looked really good for that bike..sounded really good when you were shifting going up and down the road...i finally got to test ride mine today up and down the street....it's a pain to turn it around..found this out..lol..and the shifting gears seems alittle tough to change..i might have to tinker with my clutch adjustment..see if i can make it shift easier..although..after getting it back to the house..i noticed my shifting lever arm was moving...i knew this probally would happen back when i was rebuilding it..the teeth looked really worn...soo...i had to try a quick fix..but..it is just to far gone..now i've got to get me either a new one..or one from my parts back up bike..lmao..i havent gotten the one off the parts bike yet..it got dark..and i was tired from doing some other stuff around the house today..i'll try to get to that prob some time tomorrow..or sat..other than that..she road pretty good !I'm not sure what you were hearing I'd have to listen to it again but I think what you heard was the strap of the camera slapping the side of the camera. This doesn't belong to me. Someone on a local online trading post has this for sale. It still has the original tires on it.
