Alright I have a 2001 Honda rancher 350 manual shift. This all started when the neutral light would not come on and it was in neutral so I took it to my local dealer and they replaced the gear position switch so I went to pick it up got on the Atv turned the key and the neutral light was on so it started and I drove it on the bed of my truck. When I got home and got onto the Atv to back it off when I turned the switch the reverse light was on but it wasn’t in reverse so I changed through the gears and turned the switch off and on and nothing changed so I had to take it back to the dealer and they called me and said my shift drum was broke? Which would be $750 to fix. I don’t see how it could be that when I changed the gears just fine? Need help been dealing with this over a month

retro is correct ^^^^ !. when they swapped the gear position switch, why the heck didn't they check the end of the shift drum while they was right there ??. don't sound like a good place to take an atv too..thats for sure !. all the early trx350 ranchers had a defective shift drum. honda came out with a revised shift drum. changing gears ( by foot ) has nothing to do with this problem. you can change gears all day long, what you can't do is get the gear position switch to move because the end of it is snapped off, which turns that brand new gear positions switch they installed.
