I have a 2014 trx400x and I'm trying to get ready for a race Saturday. I bought a kill switch and have installed it, but the problem is it works opposite of how it should. When tether is connected it kills the engine, when it's disconnected the engine starts and runs. It is a k&s normally closed switch. I have tried every combination and switching of wires I can think of. If hooked it up to both factory kill switch wires, one wire and a ground, flipped the tether wires around, hooked it up to key switch and it either works in reverse or not at all. Someone please help me.

Mine is a normally closed switch also and i have it hooked up to the coil trigger wire. The problem your having is you hooked it to wires that are designed for a normally open switch. In those cases you have to hook one end to ground and other to the ignition power and it grounds it when its pulled.

I hooked mine up inline with the coil trigger wire. So one wire to each end. That way when the teather pulls and it breaks the connection you now have no spark and it shuts off.

I have a pro armor powered normally closed kill switch. This is the better of them. The other ones are normally open and complete the cercuit when pulled but i dont like the fact they use a ground to do it so they can be alittle more inconsistant.
