I'm not sure what to do! I was riding my 300ex one night and out nowhere heard a pop sound and it turned off. I was in 5th gear when it happened had my lights on. Tried to start it and would make winding type of sound and wouldn't try to turn over. I recently purchased a starter solenid and charged the battery and replaced the fuse but now it sounds like the starter spins but doesn't try to turn over. Never had any issues starting up before that night I don't know what to do with it fairly new to the atv scene all help is appreciated so hit me with your input on this matter. Thanks

Which year is it?

When the motor quit running was it a mechanical sounding "pop" you heard or an electrical pop? Did the motor seize up or did it just shut down like you accidentally hit the kill switch?

So all the other electrics work? May have to pull the starter. Does it have a kick starter so you can start it a different way?
Do you have a manual?

If I understand correctly, I think something failed inside the engine like a broken or skipped cam chain or a dropped valve. The starter problem happened after it died.......probably related.

I would pull the spark plug and valve covers—try to rotate the engine to see if the valves are opening and closing.

I would try and see if you can bump start your bike.... Then you will know if it is your starter or if you have something else wrong
