Hello, I'm new here and I just recently purchased a Honda 250cc engine. It was from an ATV that some one cut up and tried to attach to (I think) a golf cart frame. This engine is shaft driven and has one drum brake, it has electric start but also a kick start. I'd like to see if anyone here know what ATV this originally came in

No as far as being used in a ATV > I have seen a guy on the golf cart build forum , who turned the motor side ways and welded a sprocket to the output shaft and had it in a cart ---------seems you are looking for a cart engine ???? one engine that would work for you would be a TRX200SX , it has electric start , reverse and is chain driven

Well I got this whole set up for $70. To put things in perspective, I am rebuilding a buggy. My original intentions were to put a predator 420 in it and call it a day, but I still want to do something with this engine.
This is what I'm working with.

That looks like a Tomberlyn Crossfire 150 ----would think you best bet would be a chain driven engine with a jack shaft ----go to buggies gone wild forum and then to the build projects , you will find many builds ----- I was going to do the same style if not the same cart with a 200sx engine , but water got into the tubes and rotted out the frame ----I have another cart project on the burner , a EZGO Workhorse with a 300 shaft driven drive train , it is about 3/4 finished ----I can show you some pics of the jack shaft I had for that cart , it was a single chain to the shaft then double chain to the axle , I still plan on using that set up on a Club Car electric cart conversion

a couple of my cart projects , I scraped the mini buggy as the frame was rusted I think it was the same cart as yours or very similar , going to put the 200sx engine in the electric Club Car frame with a jack shaft , calculated the ratio to be 4.56 , it should spin the tires ----the EZGO has a 300 drive train with a 250 rear end and 16 inches of lift , 27's in the rear and 25's in the front

Did you check out Buggiesgonewild.com/forums

Engine is a 250sx engine. Where are you located? I would be interested in buying it if you decide to part with it.
