I have a 1986 350 honda fourtrx and the brakes have seized up on me im pretty sure its the rear brakes but the front ones are really sticky themselves and the back ones will not budge at all. I loosened the brake lines up and that freed the brake handle and e brake peddle but the brakes are still locked up and from what i know if i had to guess its something in the rear brake area i just can't figure it out my grandfather said it was something sealed in the back wheel that when it gets wet can lock up and before this i went on a very long wet deep water ride. Please any help or advice would be much appreciated.

The rear brake is on the right side. Take the wheel off and with a rubber mallet try to get the drum to loosen up.

It's going to be hard to figure out which one is locked with this bike since all 4 wheels are locked together, so you may have to pull all the wheels off and see which drum is hard to get off, and that will be the one.

Shadetree will be able to help you get that drum off without damaging it.

welcome to the forums metal, as for the rear brake drum locked on..yeah..i found out..if you get water in the brake drum area..and it don't drain..it tends to seize the rear brakes up...soo..here's what you need to do...first..put your bike in nuetral..then jack the back wheels up off the ground..remove the rear right wheel, remove the center axle nut..now..you will see a big brake drum..that has about 8 or so 8mm head bolts..remove them...with a hammer and a big tiped flat head screw driver..pry with the hammer where you will see some notches on the outer ring of the brake drum..try to hit the drum pretty even all around the out side edge..once you get a gap under the lip of the brake drum cover..use the screw driver to force the cover off..then you will see your brake drum..it's probally gonna be froze on the axle.some..soak it with some wd-40..this will make it easier to remove..work around from side to side on the drum..try to pry from both sides evenly..so it won't get in a bind..if it won't budge..unhook the brake cables from the brake arm that sits on the out side of the backing plate..( where your cables go )..remove the t-nuts..and remove the cables all the way from the brake arm..with a hammer..try knocking the arm backwards..towards the rear..this will level the brake shoes inside the brake drum..and it will make it easier to take the brake drum off..don't hit the arm to hard..or it will bend. after you get the drum off..inspect your shoes..they will be held on by a metal bracket on one end of the shoes..it has holes in the end of it..held on with a cotter key for both end of the shoes..you may or may not see these..if they are rusty..so forth....anyway..take this off..then just remove the shoes..they might be froze on there..soak the end of the shoes where the metal bracket is with some wd-40..it takes some doing..but they will come off.
