Rancher 350 4x4 ES with brand new Honda clutches and oil change and clutch still slips like the day I left it at the shop....$500 and no different.... Any ideas....

When you say brand new Honda clutches, does that mean BOTH the centrifugal clutch and the change clutch parts were replaced?

Not any help... but sounds like a shop did the work. Get your money back considering it didn't fix anything.

Check the clutch adjustment first, it may have been adjusted too tight by the person who did the work.

At this stage, I would avoid touching anything and take it back to the shop and ask they make it correct.

Are the tires original spec size? If tires are larger in diameter than original spec, torque load on the clutch increases, and may slip. If you have larger tires, the best plan is to go back to original tires and wheels.

Also, I assume the dealer changed the oil and therefore used the correct oil, which is spec MA. The MA spec does not allow friction modifiers which would cause a clutch to slip.

Yep, first things to check are oil type and clutch adjustment.

If you paid a shop to do it, I would take it back to the shop.

its possible they didn't torque the pressure plate bolts down and they backed off causing it to slip. ive seen that before.

either way suspecting doesn't do any good here, just tear it down.
