Just finished building my dream 250x. Got it all together started breaking it in, and I touched the head and it burned me. I spit on it and it boiled, now i haven't had a chance to jet the carb, I will be doing that on 10/13. Mod list is in my profile. I am just running 87 octane, and a little hotter plug. Now I'm dropping the plug from a 9 heat range to a 6 heat range. And I bought a jet kit, 38 and 120 is what's in it now. I bought 42 and 45, plus 122,125,130. It runs amazing and pulls pretty fast. But the extreme cylinder head temps our worrying me. I checked, I do have oil in the top end. I'm using Lucas 10w40 syn blend , k&n filter. I have the air mix screw at 2 turns out. Any hints or tips on this over heat. I'm thinking oil cooler install and fan. But I'd like to fix the temp before I install all that. Thank you guys and gals for reading and any tips.
