Hello, I am having problems getting my brakes to function properly. I have replaced the master cylinder and front and back shoes. Drums are still within service limits. Followed service manual for maintenance. First the front: brake lever is spongey and does not actuate the shoes. I adjusted them according to the service manual. When squeezing the lever it hardly moves the shoes. When fluid drain screw is backed off it squirts fluid out with each pump. Back brakes: foot pedal and lever cables are tight to the max and are soft with little effect. They both actuate the cam but do not effectively stop the wheels. Any thoughts about what to do ?
