head lamps and brake lights only work when key is in off position

2007 TRX680FA RINCON

I recently purchased a 2007 trx680fa on further inspection the head lamps and break lights only work when the key is in the off position. Any help as how to track down the gremlin is greatly appreciated.

sounds like someone bypassed the lights !, no lights should be on when key is on !. they some how wired lights to be on with key off. start at the ignition switch, work your way towards the lights.
