Hi all. first time poster, long time reader. So I rolled my "09" 420at and the handlebar is toast. It looked easy enough to change myself... until I looked at the dashboard, for lack of a better term. Is there an easy way to get that thing of and on again? Any help would be big. And for the blood and gutts readers... two days in the hospital with a bleeding kidney and weeks of back pain!
thanks in advance, mike in Pa.

Just had the same thing happen with our TRX420E. I wasn't the lucky one who rolled it though, one of our kids friends but HE was lucky, walked away without a scratch. I have the service manual but couldn't find how to remove the gauge cluster to get to the handlebar clamps so called our dealer and talked to the mechanic. He said there's 2 bolts at the front, and that it WAS in the service manual. Went back and found the proper section in the manual. Not sure where you're located, I'm in Canada and I guess it's different for the CA and US machines. Mine did have 2 bolts which you can see if you look from the front, between the gauge cover and the front fender, there's just enough room to get a 12mm socket and extension in there to remove the 2 nuts. Then the gauge cluster will pull off the studs and tilt, so you can unplug the hose and electrical connector giving you enough room to tilt forward out of your way. Here's the 2 pages from the service manual, click on the link below each pic for the full size photo.

Shadetree, where ya at, I'm kicked back and waiting to see your comment because when not highly educational, the others are quite entertaining.
Tarbender, glad to hear you are on the road to recovery, there's a link to the service manuals in my signature if you need one so you have your own. (for next time, yuk, yuk :ROFLMAO: )
