grease for shift gears, ES shift motor see stickie fixing electronic shift

i cant remember where i posted last, it was not long age about proper shift motor grease for the gears. i reread the stickie about es shift problems. kentco said use all temperature white lithium grease. i just happened to have a small tube of pennzoil marine 100% synthetic grease. it says at the bottom NLGI Grade #2. i dont remember what it says in the book letter wise, but grade #2 is important.

The NLGI numbers are consistency grade ratings. There is a table listing all of the grades for greases on the Wikipedia page.

Your synthetic marine grease is an excellent choice for ES gears!

Always use a synthetic grease if it is available. It will remain wet, outperform and outlast every standard crude based grease. A true all-temperature grease is a synthetic grease afterall... nothing else over the counter comes close.

EDIT:
The Wikipedia page I linked above is a laugher as usual. They list NLGI #2 as being the consistency of peanut butter. NLGI #2 is thinner and wetter and it won't stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth! Wikimorons if you ask me...
