how deep can these go in the water? at one time my muffler was gargling , we drove the creek for a long time with no way out .... and turning around is not in my vocabulary which explains why i gave my 2002 king Quad to my dad ... with 8 years of riding to much needs fixed to mess with it for me.. however for him a couple $1000 and he will get a solid quad.

looks like you all had a great time get some pics when you do the wheels and welcome to the forum
Sure thing !! im waiting by my mail box :D

My rancher wasnt too muddy , i waxed it with ICE before i left , that stuff works awesome muddy water just rolled off..

as for under the fender , i didnt wax ... it was trying to stain but i stoped by a car wash on the way home and power washed under the fenders.

the little 70cc extreme broke down with 1/2 mile to go and we were in a real bad place , got to a big hill and i was towing the small quad with no rider :D

the Arctic cat had to try 3 times to get over it , it was more of a motorcycle trail than a 4 wheeler trail .

with the extra weight in tow my 420 rancher was able to take the sideways sloppy hill (it was pouring rain) in 1 try WOT !

very impressed with my quad , not once did i get stuck and everything the big bikes powered threw i used speed and just walked right threw they were very impressed with it, even on the stockers because they all had big mudders

i admit , i didnt go to buy a Honda , i went to get a 2011 King Quad 500, i grew up on a 125M Honda and when i mean grew up i mean thats all i did between the ages of 8-13 rode all the time.

i used my history with Honda and closed my eyes and signed the loan :D ... when starting the ride with the Huge Bikes with huge tires i thought i was in for it ... before i knew it i was going first :icon_ lala:

There is alot to be said here , it was me and a big bore yamaha and a big bore Arctic cat , on the road they would smoke me as the rancher wouldnt go over 53 MPH , ive seen written on here 55 MPH is the top but my quad would only go 53MPH it held it for a mile solid with no hesitation, the big bikes smoked me on the road. but on the trail not so much think the Power to weight ratio was my advantage as even going down steep inclines , when i say steep i mean so steep that i thought my front bumper was going to hit the bottom of the hill and flip me forwards .. the big bore bikes had there tires locked up and slid down the hills narrowly escaping disaster ... at this time they were in front of me... i was like...... gulp

then i started over and never even broke traction..

hummmm

im like what the hell is going on here ?

same as when a few times i lost momentum going up big hills and thought it was over and it just kept going ... this thing is an army tank ! cant wait to get the grim reapers on it because of the added ground clearance and traction i have no idea the capabilities!

Gotta love them Ranchers! I have a similiar story.. Last week we went camping and riding. I went with a friend I have not seen in along time and his buddy. My friend has a 650 brute froce, and his bud had a 700 king quad. I got there and after a beer and some ribbing about my "little" machine, its fancy wheels and two winches(they didnt have winches). To make a long story short, they blew my rancher away on the gravel roads. Couldnt keep up with the bigger bikes! But I didn't get an atv for speed, if thats the case I would have got a raptor! So I just took the whipping like a man. But when it came to the nasty stuff the rancher whipped their a**! Now I ride pretty aggressive, and the 420 has never let me down, NOT ONCE. Oh and as for the wiches, I had to use the frount winch....TO PULL OUT MY BUDDIES BRUTE FORCE! Had fun with that one All day!!

I think a lot of it is riders ability , sounds like me and you can control 420 CC and use the power to our advantage ... maybe on a 700CC bike we would be as reckless and out of control ? something to think about eh?

Ya funny, i told my wife that I might want to get a bigger machine and she said that i would kill myself and my 420 was plenty...lol Even my friends say that.. I like the body size of the rancher.. Very compact and it is easy to control especialy with the independant rear.. Wish i would have got power steering though..

My Bombardier Quest 650 tops out at about 75 mph on asphalt with me and 3 passengers, but is a b"tch to turn! Definitely not one for trails, but the power is great. I prefer my Rancher regardless. The better handling, sporty feel, and superb mud capability make it my favorite even though top speed is 41.

Sweet...looks like you had a good time. I almost got the Grim Reapers myself. I'm pretty sure they're bias ply though and I wanted to stick with radials.
