The number should be on that plate that you've scraped a small amount of paint off. Clean it up properly and You may be lucky enough to see it.

get the number off the engine and I can tell you what year the engine is ----------personally I would have never bought it without see the vin number with my own eyes and having that vin number on a bill of sale

Ouch, hate to break it to you but theres a good chance that wheeler is stolen.

I have seen that very same thing happen here where I live, guys are good fabricators, they steal the bike and replace it with a new piece of steel.

the other chance could be that the frame was replaced, but Honda would have stamped new numbers into it.

Are those fenders aftermarket? They have no black outer panel and appear to be stock width. All UK variants have the black outer plastic.

just because the engine is a 95 doesn't mean the frame is also 95 , people change out motors or frames and will swop the wiring harness to match the engine as some years have different electrical parts , 98-2000 I believe has it's own cdi , where a 95 would be different -----some times there are stickers on the frame in the front and under the seat , it will say TRX300AS , the A is 2wd , the last letter is the year , S is for 95 , I say sometimes as not all 300 have the last letter on the tag ---- also the tenth digit of the vin is the year

To play devils advocate; Let say there is no VIN and it might be a stolen unit. I haven't had time to scrape all that paint off but hypothetically. What would I do? If there's no VIN it can't be identified by law enforcement to be returned to the rightful owner. How would one proceed lawfully?
