Alright folks, I have a 2005 Rancher 350 2x4. The other day my dad took it out and left it on my trailer. He always leaves it in 1st gear on the trailer so it won’t roll (just his personal preference) I hop on the next day to take it out and I’m trying to shift down into neutral to start it up. Well for some reason he left it in reverse instead of his normal 1st so I start to push down on the gear shifter really hard and it eventually “breaks”. The gear shifter now just falls down and freely moves up and down like something on the inside is obviously broke way. The 4wheeler shows it’s in reverse when you turn the key on. Can y’all help lead me in the right direction to getting his fixed?

I'll take a guess that the small, ball-shaped end of the shift spindle arm broke off:

If thats the case, you'll have to take the rear cover off to fish out the broken end piece and replace that arm.
