As you mention a 54% GR I assume you have a 300 fourtrax? There are 18% available also which would be more suited to 26" tires

Yes, it's a fourtrax 300 4x4. Do you know where I can look for the 18%? How much should it affect top speed?
----I wonder if math could be used to determine top speed , if you knew how fast you were going stock and added a 18% reduction , could you subtract 18% from the top speed -------

Reduction Boss is a good reduction builder , I don't know the price of a 18% , would guess in the $450 range plus your core

It would work a long as you stayed with stock tires, the larger tires would be another variable, and you’d have to assume it would have the HP to pull them all the way to redline rpm.

All the reading I ever done . I am surprised that I have never found a formula to calculate gear reduction with tire diameter , but then like you say the weight brings in another factor for total performance

I remember my Bronco's speedo was 21 miles per hour off because of over size tires , I changed the plastic gear in the tranny and got it to 9mph off ---- one thing kind of cool with new technology , on my Dodge I was able to go in thru the tuner and change my tire size , I actually had to set it for a tire size I don't even have on the truck to get the speedometer right against the GPS

I also am considering an EPI economy clutch kit. I've heard that they are good for slight increase in tires, but I've also heard that they don't do anything. How would the economy kit stack up to the competition kit. I know they increase stall about 4-500 rpms in the economy and about 900 rpms in the competition.

26 ITP Mudlites on a 300 with no reduction , spins rooster tails ----- also have a 300 with 27s with no reduction

Do you have a lift? I think im going to get the highlifter 2 in lift kit. I'm hoping that the 2 in lift as well as the 2 in taller tires will have around the same ground clearance as my buddy's renegade 500.

Yes on the 2 inch shock extension lift ------ with a 2 inch lift and 2 inch bigger tires , you will gain 1 inch of ground clearance

For a speed reference my 300 fourtrax with 28" mega mayhem's, Rick's hot shot CDI, BR can and 54% GR did 32 mph absolutely screaming on a slight downhill. That was taken from GPS.

As for clutch kits, the only brand worth considering is EBC however, I would advise you to ditch the heavy duty change clutch springs and use OEM instead. Makes no difference other than wearing your boots out and aching your toes!!
