Okay guys I need help figuring out how to do a gear reduction. Could I put a 300 clutch into the honda recon would it fit? I'm asking because you can buy 300 gear reductions for 300 not for the 250.

this may help you

hey man i am in the same boat with you i can find any thing on a gear reduction for my honda recon 250 but if you get a big bore kit like the biggest one you can get and jets and a clutch kit you should be fine without a gear reduction unless you get in like peanut butter mud or georgia clay you should be fine.... but if you really want a gear reduction you can always make some custom portal lifts out of a piece of c channel and chain here go check out this video its for a 300 but still the same concept go to youtube and type in Honda 300 portal lift 100% gear reduction 100% bolt on

I am looking for a gear reduction also for my son to give him a little more torque with the 30" tires. I was hoping to keep the internals of the motor stock for reliability.

Stock gearing. Basic lift kit I believe it is a 2” there are wheel adapters to switch the bolt pattern over to can am. I welded up the aluminum floor boards so the wheels wouldn’t hit while turning or suspension flex.
