Hello
I own a 2007 Honda Rancher TRX420 TE. On the rear axle, between the gear case and axle nut there is a collar. Between the collar and axle nut is a sight gap about 1/8 inch wide. there is gear oil that is coming out that keeps it wet, but it"s not dripping. I'll wipe it away but when I take just a very short ride it comes back.I've downloaded the manual but can"t figure out if I can turn the axle nut one way or the other to close the gap or if there is some other way of correcting this. I'm not even sure If this is a serious problem or not. Thank you

Its been apart then, huh? Putting the missing part back in it should be relatively easy. Buy the part before taking it apart just in case... I'd put new seals in it too unless you are aware of its history. Then while you are waiting on those parts to arrive you can read the section on rear final drive in the service manual. If you aren't comfortable doing the work yourself or don't have the proper tools you'll realize that while reading up. Take your time and follow directions if you decide to fix it. You can ask questions here in this thread if you get in a bind... we are here to help. We'll expect you to be following the service manual. Have fun!
