Thank you for your advise. I am sure rocking the ATV will work. My problem is it stalled on an uphill slant. I will need to get a tiw rope to pull it to level ground and will do so tomorrow and post the results. Alan

try this : with key off, and there is a working kick start or pull start ?, while kicking it over or pull starting it, ( I don't know which way your atv is made ? ), sooooooo..lets go with kick starting !. while kicking it over while in gear, it will lurch forward a little, as it does, quickly put the brakes on, now try down shifting. oh, and you did not have to start a new thread on this topic, please continue to use your first thread on this, thanks ! .
