i had quite a leakage coming out of my overflow hose on my 91 350TRX..i realize that i probably have a float problem in my carb..is there a simple fix or am i gonna have to take the carb off?when i first noticed it,it was quite bad..i give my carb a couple of taps and it seemed to subside but my hose is still wet..

On the bottom of the carb is the bowl. Take that off(leave the carb on the machine) and clean the heck out of it with carb cleaner. Spray carb cleaner up into the carb too.

Sounds like they have you headed in the right direction. It's the float valve sticking open. It might have some debris under the float valve or the float valve itself can have corrosion or gas deposits on it, causing it to not seat and seal the gas flow off when the bowl fills up.
