After strapping a backpack onto the front rack during our last trip, I figured there had to be something better and more waterproof. I didn't want something too tall that would reduce forward visibility, so this is what I found. For $30 at Home Depot, plus some U bolts, I have a great water resistant box. The handles that lock the boxes to each other, also are great to strap things down, or another box. I attached the front to the rack with the U bolts, and the rear with heavy duty zip ties. That way I can still tilt it up to access the radiator.

I saw those at Home Depot and thought about doing something similar.. Beats the hell out of a $150+ box!!!
Great Job!!!

After pressure washing the atv with the box on, I do need to add a few dabs of silicone around where the U bolts enter the box. I got 1 drop of water in by one of them. Other than that, the rubber gasket kept all the water out. I'm very impressed at the water tightness of the box. I have a regular plastic tool box on the rear rack, but some day I might upgrade to the next size up Ridgid box for the rear.

I typically use the attached set up for about 90 percent of the time because quick on/off with tie down and the gear needed can be arranged. Nice thing is I can remove it with tools/gear for specific applications. I do switch this to a sealed box during the winter.

I do need to apply a few dabs of silicone around where the U bolts enter the box after pressure cleaning the atv with the box on. One of them dropped a drop of water on me. The rubber gasket, on the other hand, kept all of the water out. The box's watertightness has me quite impressed. On the back rack, I have a basic plastic tool bag, but I may change to a larger Ridgid box in the future.

I've had a similar front cargo box for 10 years on a couple different atv's. It's one sold for atv's but nothing special, its just a plastic box the size of the rack.
They're great, you can carry a ton a stuff and it stays clean and dry. On long rides I end up packing stuff for my friends as they cant fit it in their rear seat.
