One of my neighbours showed me his mint 350 and another parts bike 350. He said he wanted to get rid of the parts bike since it was a 1986 and couldn't get the right parts to fit on his mint one. I asked him how much he wanted for it but he told me if I wanted a headache and a puzzle he would give it to me. I tried giving him some cash but he turned down my offer. Called one of my buddies and we towed it home.

Only 1 crack in the plastics. Seat needs to be recovered. Need a fuel pump relay, flywheel, stator, CDI and new tires. Also a knocking noise in the front left wheel when turning.

Won't be attacking this project just yet; need to get a few other projects done first. Very anxious to get started on it! Parts are going to be rough to find.

Noyce!
That second picture the front left wheel looks like it’s sticking WAY out there

I first saw this thought you were holding a garage sale i was gonna raise my hand lol
Yeah that left wheel has something going on with it. All 4 wheels are not the same, the flanges on 3 wheels are trashed and they all go flat pretty quick.

I was looking through the boxes and found the OEM CDI in it. Unsure if it works or not... He had tried to put it on his other bike but it was not compatible.

Hoping the motor has compression.

I should have a stator and flywheel, and maybe a CDI. I have 3-4 carcasses in the farm shop and a couple of extra bottom ends. I just need to see what years they are since the stuff doesn't swap from year to year. Mine are all either 86-87A or 88-up. Don't have any 87 350D's. I'm not sure if the carcasses all have CDI's or not. I know I have an 88 CDI on my workbench, but not sure about an extra 86

None of mine were bought running so I don't know if any of the stuff works, but if it does he's welcome to it.

With a newborn I haven't set foot outside of the house except to go to work, so might be a few weeks before I can dig, but hopefully that time frame will work for machinecrook.

Hey @machinecrook
I noticed the bodywork on your 86 had two holes in it. The TRX350A Fourtrax came stripped down but with many Hondaline options, including carriers.
Two front carriers were available—a basket carrier and a cooler carrier. Those two holes were for The basket carrier, which requires a special rubber bushing with metal sleeve and bolt that mates with the carrier sleeve and bracket you see on the frame. The cooler carrier bolted to the fender and bumper mounts and required no cutting of the fender

Please notice these sellers misidentify these parts as fitting a Foreman—they might fit but were not options for the Foreman
You’ll run into the same issue with sellers identifying parts as 86-89–many parts are not interchangeable
