Hi all, just got this '96 fourtrax 400. The one way clutch on the flywheel is ng. I can't seem to find the correct parts listing for this. They all come up with the eng mounted length ways (like the 420?). My unit is mtd transverse & has a kickstart. vin sticker is incomplete. What is this unit & where would be the best source for parts be in Canada?. vin (__ 1524ta802721)
**edit this is not a 400, seen the m/n & displacement after I posted this, then bought parts from the dealer.

why are you buying parts for a 400 when the sticker clearly reads 1996 trx300fw ?.

I was told told by the po that it was a 400, she was clueless about everything. After I posted that question, I went to get more pics, in the daylight & noticed the displacement. I was going to update or delete my post but couldn't find & assumed it wasn't posted. I ordered parts from the local dealer, who was about the same price as "www.bike-parts-honda.ca"

Before I knew exactly what I had I bought some of the bigger pieces from fleabay, like the missing front axle (shaft broke & missing, joints are still there. the 2004 400 axle is i bought apparently 1/8" shorter. Is this going to work for a 96 trx300fw?also bought the L leaver, perch cables, that should be the same.

Use the OEM parts finder at Rocky Mountain atv and Partzilla. Compare parts from both atvs keep the matches; sell the others if you want

axles will be different. not sure on cables ?. you can use partzilla.com to see if the cables will fit.
