Fourtrax 300 FW rear brake drum ringHow in the world do you get this ring out of the rear brake drum? 1995 300 FW. I can’t get to draw him over the new brake shoes I’m guessing this rain has to come out first. I am beating it and spraying it with PB blaster and it simply won’t move AT ALL! Also the rear brake pedal will not spring back up after you press down on it. All of the springs are there and I took the brake pedal off and lubed the shaft. It refuses to come back up when you release the pedal. What is going on with this thing?

the no-return issue on the brake lever , might be the cam needs to be removed and polished up with some emery paper , anti-siezed and some new seals --------- if it won't go pass the ring the ring , you must not have it centered , unless maybe you got some after market shoes , then sand some off the shoes if all else fails

Cam was removed, cleaned and greased up. It moves back and forth smoothly. Took brake pedal off and greased the shaft of well. It also moves smoothly. Just wont spring back. Spring is attached properly to braked pedal. Very annoying. A ridiculous amount of work to change a few brake shoes. Should have just put a disk back there. I don’t get it

Sounds like that pedal spring isn't just quiet right ? Speaking of....is the foot brake cable in good shape ?

Looks fine, I’m thinking when I get the proper shoes and put it all back together maybe it will work better. I didn’t have everything buttoned up when I was testing the brake pedal. Not sure if that makes a difference.

the cable operates smoothly---- Good!!

As for the foot brake arm..... Do this... (If you haven't already) leave the cable disconnected ... If you have the spring correct that Pedal should slam back up to the rubber stop in the foot peg.
