My gas tank is the original, it has has been welded in many places by po (not pretty, but not leaking). It is also not the best looking inside. I have decided to replace the tank. Should I look for an OEM Honda or go with the plastic aftermarkets? The OEM has a fuel gauge which is nice, but not a big deal. Does anyone know of a good place to buy a tank, new or used? Anyone know the Honda part #? Thanks

what year is it ??..if you don't want to worry about rust anymore..the plastic ones are the way to go for those atv's. as for oem....i'm not sure they still make them if that bike is older than 10 years old. your best bet is look on ebay.

Honda part #17510-HA8-680, looks like around $500 for the OEM tank, but according to ServicHonda.com, they've been discontinued.

Is there other other models or years that used the same gas tank? I can get a tank from a fourtrax 350 if it would fit.
The Fourtrax 350 tank is under the seat on the Fourtrax 350 and it won't fit the Fourtrax 250. Unless you're talking about the newer Fourtrax Rancher 350 and it won't fit either, but it's not located under the seat. The closest one that I could think of would be the '84 Fourtrax 200, but I doubt it would fit either.

I think it will be a good idea if you see this replacement gas tanks. As I can see, that type of gas tank will really work for your Honda. Hope you might find the gas tank that you needed.
