Hi all, I am new to this site.
I have a Foreman 450 ES, 2003. it started with the 4 wd selection not working, it just stayed in 2wd and the 4wd light would flash 4 times. I stopped for a couple of hours and then started her up again to find I have no gear selection, it wont move with the electronic shift. if goes through the gears of with the manual shift.
can anyone help me please.

How old is your battery? What is the voltage of the battery?

Hi Sam
it looks like a voltage issue, the battery is only about a year old but I have put it on charge and all of the issues have disappeared. do you know the following as I would like to give a bit of a service.
what should the voltage be with the engine running
what should the voltage be with the engine off.
what gear oil should be used in the front and rear diff (I assume it the same for both?)
what is the best engine oil
Thanks in advance, Phil

Hi Phil.

With the engine running I'm not to sure. With the engine off a good battery should read 12.4 volts or above.
Gear oil should be 80/90 Hypoid front and rear. It must be Hypoid as it has certain friction modifiers to suit the front LSD.
As for engine oil, I've always used Halfords own brand 10w-40 motorcycle oil, works great and has never failed me. Must be motorcycle oil or suitable for wet clutches though

Hi Sam, I'm looking to replace the rear shocks as one is getting soft. Do you have any recommendations of type and supplier please mate.
look into progressive shocks on ebay, or on their website, they might make the rear shock for your model ? :).
