Hi to all
I think I know which way this is going to go but wanted to ask............
I have a hole in the rear case on a 00 450ES Foreman
I wanted to see if anyone has gotten away with replacing just a half of a case with good results?
I know the cases used to be line bored as a set, dont know if they still are but wanted to see if
anyone had done this.
I was thinking that now days with tolerances and machining so much better I thought it
might work, and I also have half a case on hand and wont have to buy one
I will probably just buy a complete case but wanted to see if it had been done by a few with good success
Thanks

I have always heard and read that you should replace both halves as a set -------- is this hole in a spot where maybe you could repair the hole with JBWeld and a piece of aluminum plate , I have repaired Briggs engines that the rod broke and went thru the block

I had to replace the lower case half on my '05 trx500fm because of a broken oil drain threads, I've replaced halves a few times in the past on a lot of engines, never heard of having to buy matching sets ?, if you have the correct case half ?, use it !.
