Went to start it today, 2013 TRX500 FM, and nothing, just a flicker !:crying When the ignition key is turned on the neutral gives a quick flicker and goes out, no display, starter dead,no horn. Lights work and indicators.
Had a quick look and all fuses in the fuse box are good (couldn't see any others), battery reads 13.4v and holds there while starter button pressed (so definitely open circuit and not bad battery). I can hear a relay in the battery box clicking but can't feel whether fuel or power relay, seems to be only one clicking though unless perfectly synchronised.
Going to have a better look tomorrow but any clues gents to make it easier?

Going to do that tomorrow, first job. Then make sure ign switch is OK. Doing the simple things first. Spent a lot of time by the sea so corrosion of connectors/terminals could well be the problem. Didn't mess today as one of the lads at work is one of those that has to mess, you step away and he's got his hands in there. Not the sort of bloke you want around a job like this.

I am with Jeep on my first guess battery terminal connections -------- Battery ground cable connection at the crankcase has given me problems --------------- a screw driver jumped across the two solenoid studs is a good quick test to narrow it down

Well it took a while because I wanted to check all grounds and connections first off. Removed all earth connections and cleaned them up before refitting with silicon grease, did the same with connectors, undid them, cleaned with contact cleaned and reconnected with silicon grease again.
Made no difference so on to wiring diagram, turns out it was the smaller rectifier. This machine has a large regulator/rectifier and next to it a smaller one (listed as a rectifier) which to all intents and purposes is just a diode (test procedure as a diode as well). Ordered one yesterday from dealer (£17) and fitted today. Just got to wire winch in and refit plastics now.
