Yesterday I attempted to start my 2018 Rancher 420 ES directly under the power lines in my backyard. Turned the key on, and the display lit up as normal. Put the ignition switch in the run position, everything seemed fine. Hit the start button, and it cranked for half a second, and then lost all electrical power. The display will no longer light, and all electrical power seems dead.

Normally, when I ride this thing anywhere near the power lines, the brake levers will buzz. I have been shocked a few times by them too, when not wearing gloves. The head mechanic at my local dealership looked at me funny when I told him this.

I've searched but have not found any posts regarding electrical issues around high voltage lines. Does anyone have any experience with issues around them?

As for the Rancher, I have not had time to start troubleshooting it yet. I'm hoping for a blown fuse.

NO clue I grew up living next to power lines, never an issue, then or not , ride under them all the time here too, from the BIG high power metal poles to them tri towers, to huge wooden poles
so say 40+ yrs of riding atv, snowmobiles motorcycles, trucks, tractors, equipment , and never an issue!

I think you have other issues, and this is why your dealer looked at you funny!

your atv would be grounded being on rubber tires, is no way IMO, any shocks would happen to you from some how power being diverted into the ground or??
I'd start looking for some shorts some place, fuses, and such
, I think its just dumb timing , and Nothing top do with the power lines at all!
if tyhis always happens in one small area, I'd say MAYBE contact the power company, but you might end up in trouble if its NOT legal to be riding on there lands!

i got enough static, without Tesla. winter is bad for me. i have a water bottle, that i use, to spray my clothes, so the sparks dont happen. during the winter, i also mist the carpets. i shot out a blue spark, .5 inch long. it didnt hurt the doorknob at all. just me. at 15f. tonight, i gotta find that spray bottle, or be tortured.
thanks for reminding me..
power lines, an cellphones, magnetic radiation. Rads. "cell" phones = dead brain cell's. drink a Bud or so. take a nip, get brain damage honest..
P.S. i thought those pyramids, collected cosmic energy.. :)

Bad grounds or bad connections for sure.. Possibly a scrap battery, confirm voltage of you can..

I'd say your issue has nothing to do with power lines, just coincidental.

I think you got it backwards , but I like the way you think , maybe power was flowing down --- The theory is : power was produced in the Great Pyramid and transferred wireless to obelus ( which was kind of like a repeater ) and maybe into space to the Mother Ship , kind of like a 50 amp hook up at the RV park

Are you sure it wasn’t a flying saucer going over, that sucked all the energy away?
What you are talking about is called inductance. I doubt your rubber-tired 4wheeler could build up much of a charge though. Your battery or fuse is probably shot or blown...

Never thought of that angle , the alien ship might have been refueling by inductance while cloaked so you never seen it , while hovering over the power lines and you passed too close and got sucked off of all your juice
