How much space is there between the pads?

Im trying to put these new ebs pads on my 400 ex. i pushed the caliber piston in as far as it will go. The pads are to thick still. What can I do?

I use a C-clamp to compress the piston back. Usually is a tight fit anyway you do it.
I've never had luck with any parking brakes. Never seemed to want to work right. Especially with the drum braked hondas.
There are a few companies that make block off plates for the caliper. Does your EX have the park brake lever on the clutch like the other hondas? If so, you might be able to just scrap the stock clutch perch and get a dirtbike style one, that look better with less going on.
You should start with rockymountain, i use their site a lot.
