Just wondering if I should do my own oil change on a Honda trx420pg. I have read a few articles and the main concern is to much torque on the drain plug cracking the housing. The manual recommends 14 lbs but other has said to go only to 11 lbs, anyone with experience?:icon_question::icon_question:

Just snug it. don't put any kind of extra force on it. Get it tight then just give it a small snug.

If they are anything like honda car a/t if you put ANYTHING else but honda fluid it will act up every time. But as soon as you put some honda a/t bam! Like new...it's weird.

We should have a "DIY" part of the forum. For all the do it yourself things you can do to your atv. Whether its oil changes, and maintenance to shock replacement ect. and stuff like that. I think we should take that into consideration. I know most of you reg.s you can make a s**t ton of "DIY" threads. Like I know red can. deff. make some...I mean just look at his bike. He has done some fine work.

I use GN4 also and my 2 cents on tightning a drain plug when all else fails use a 1/4 drive short ratchet and short socket it's hard to put alot of torque on it. but inger tight and 1/4 tur is just fine too.
