I have a 2007 420 and I was wondering how to take the outer cv joint apart to change the boot.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Welcome to the forums. The outer joint isn't supposed to come off. You have to pull the axle and and remove the inner joint from the shaft and loosen the clamps on the outer joint and slide the boot down the shaft and off the other side. Installation is opposite of disassembly.

I forgot to tell you how to remove the inboard joint so you can slide the outer boot off. To remove the inboard joint, unclamp the boot and slide it back. Next, remove the stopper ring and pull the shaft and bearing out. Now, just remove the snap ring on the end of the shaft that holds the bearing on and slide the bearing off. Next, slide the boot off and unclamp the outer boot and slide it off. Lastly, slide on the new outer boot and clamp it and then reassemble the inboard joint. Below are a couple pictures that may help.
