Sorry, I had chili-dogs for lunch.

I'm Mike. Just bought a holdover new 08 400EX.

If I told you what I did for a living, I'd have to kill you.

Posting pictures of me doesn't work, because I am an invisible ninja. Allow me to demonstrate:

See me? No, no you don't!

I'm building what is basically a flat-track racer, for street use. Lowered, Kenda Speed Racer tires, etc.

I'm primarily looking for info on stiffer springs and stuff for street-ability.

I have a metric sh*t-ton of parts being shipped right now, so I'll post more pics in the next two weeks as I build it up.

Peace, love and baby gravy.

Ok, so current mods, after 3 weeks.

Rox dash plate
Rox 1.25" Risers
Kenda Speed Racer tires (21x7x10 & 20x11x8)
ModQuad billet shifter
AC Racing frame/engine skid
Moose A-arm and swingarm skids
Alba pro-peg nerfs
Alba bumper
Trail Tech Endurance dash (love this thing)
Removed graphics
Mirror
Pro Design billet case saver
MotionPro twist throttle
FMF PowerCore 4
Moose CR High bars
Custom plate bracket
Front fender warning plates blacked out
Alba brake block (coming)
Alba chain roller (coming)

I took it out for a ride across town on friday.

The Speed Racer tires definitely make things more interesting. Very smooth ride on the street. Extra contact patch of the rears make it easy to lift the front end up (although awkward to control with twist throttle until I get used to it), and on smooth asphalt, it is very fun to drift the corners. I just need to add some tire balls to help with the wobble, and need to stiffen up the front suspension a bit as it dives way too far in the corners and lifts the inside rear tire off the ground.

New pics will be up later.

I love the speedo/dash. It works great. Just wish there was an option for keeping the backlight on at night instead of just pressing Mode, which lets it light up for 4 seconds before turning dark again.

Or do you want to know how it literally works? If so, it clamps to your bars, cable/sensor runs to your right side knuckle, mounts via self tapping screw (after drilling a 1/8 hole) and traces your brake line (secured by zip-ties), and then there's a magnetic bolt that replaces one of your rotor bolts. Unit is battery operated and starts up when the front wheel turns, auto-off after 30 minutes of non-movement. Programming your parameters into it for setting up takes a few tries, but isn't too bad.
