I have a '02 300ex that has me confused . the bike starts and idles great but for some reason won't rev beond 1/4 throttle ..? the exhaust is not blocked carb is clean , no air leaks around carb, and no slack in throttle cable . any help would be appreciated !

Welcome to the forum ( boy didn't that sound like I been here for longer than one day! ). Sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem, when you say you cleaned the carb. did you take the jets, float needle valve and stuff out and clean or did you just spray cleaner in it? If you did then you may want to check the screen in the tank if you have one. When you pull the fuel line off the carb. does it free flow fuel out or just kinda drip?

I took the carb apart , checked float levels, the screen in the petcock is clean with good fuel flow

Is the choke loose? On mine if I forget to turn the choke off it runs good up to about 1/4 throttle then it falls on its face and tries to die. Is it possible that the lever is loose enough that the vacuum is pulling it shut?

I don't have the same problem but mine runs great i dunno if it have stock jets or not i wanna say one of them is 130 something i forgot the other but going down a trail no matter what gear about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle a steady pace it got a hesitation to it
