Hello everyone I am new to the sight. I have a 03 Honda Rancher 350es 4x4 with 25 inch itp589. I have to replace the timing chain on it so when the motor is out I was thinking about replacing the clutches and add a epi clutch kit in it. I need new tires and was thinking of going to 27s like the mud bugs or the swamp witches or vamp 2. So the question I have would the clutch kit alone be enough to turn them or should I just stay with 25s. I was planning on putting a 2 inch lift snorkel and rejet it. Thank you for your time and sorry for it being so long.

If you put a change clutch kit in it, do not put heavier springs in that clutch. The ES system will suffer and possibly take out the ECM, even if it still shifted halfway decent. As far as tire diameter goes thats up to you... if it were my bike I would stay with 25s because the 350 motor is no powerhouse and 25s are easier on the centrifugal clutch. But I don't beat on my stuff or drive in thick mud so its your call, and its your wallet. I'd go no more than 1.5 inches max on the lift kit too, to keep the rear driveshaft and front axles alive.

Thank you for your reply. After I thought about it when I said that I really won’t be gaining any ground clearance. I don’t beat up on my equipment. It needed a new top end and a timing chain when I got it a couple of years ago. I just been slowly fixing it up and make it kinda what I would like. I did find nice tires in 25 size so I won’t put a lift. I didn’t know about the clutch kit and that it could damage if I put on to heavy of a spring. So I might not even mess with it. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it and I don’t really ride in a whole lot of mud. Maybe some next summer when I can but not the thick stuff. Thank you for the reply and information. I learned something new.

Welcome to the forums.

As retro said, avoid the HD springs, I don’t fit them even with a GR. I personally believe it’s a waste of time and money unless your going bigger than a 29.5 tyre. OEM springs are what I would fit.
Lift kits, avoid the HL kit, there’s gives the most available lift. There are some out there that state a 2” lift but are only 1”, I have one for my 450. Search eBay and you’ll find them, I found the 1” lifts are usually plated silver rather than zinc and yellow pass (gold). 25’s is a nice size IMO if you plan on a mid tyre, you have to take into consideration loss of power due to weight and diameter and also loss of power due to added traction. You could pull a 27 but only something like a bear claw, anything more aggressive and you need to keep the size closer to stock.

Thank you retro and thank you samuk. Y’all have been very helpful. I’ll just run the 25 and pick some nice tire to run. I’m keeping in mind the weight of the tires anyways thank you both for taking your time to help me.
