Good morning boys, so I was in the shop last night messing around with the bike I have the timing chain oil pump and all other parts installed just the cover and oil line left to put on I just layed the cover on last night and shifted up through the gears to make sure everything is working but it feels like I can't get into 4th gear? Is the because I don't have the case all the way on? Also just wondering if I have this reverse locking arm installed correctly? Hoping by tomorrow I will be riding! Gotta start hauling some wood! Lol

the tranny is not in neutral. from what I see in your pic anyway ?. and the shifting shaft arm is not lined up right with the change clutch. the reverse lever looks to be installed right, but the shift drum is not where it should be, this is where I say, your tranny is not in neutral.

Yes at that point I probably had it in gear when I took the picture and for got to put it back, but my shaft arm is lined up from what I can tell, I have the punch mark lined up with the mark on the crank case?
just make sure both punch marks, as there is one on the shaft, as well as the arm ?, both of these should line up with the punch mark inside the case :).

So I am stumped on this re assembly issues I have everything lined up the way I think it should be but for whatever reason my nutral light won't come on nor my reverse light, and the other problem I am having is that ever since I got the bike it has never had brakes or anything, and I could always shift down into reverse but now that I have installed the reverse lock I can't shift down was there maybe something done so the bike could be shifted down even with the wire cut? Here's a pic of how I have it all installed

you can't shift it into reverse without the reverse cable pulling the lever up ( with the side cover on ), check all your leads to the switches after the cover is on.

Shade tree the reverse leaver must have been let go inside the case then because I have never had to activate the cable because the cable is cut lol, and as for my nutral and reserve sensor wires the appear to be working fine I touched them up agganst metal and they both light up

welllllllll..without the cable ?, you can't pull the lever down so the end will clear the shift drum notch ?..sooo..not sure how you were able to shift to reverse without the cable hooked up ??.

I'm also wondering how the nutral and reverse sensors work? I don't understand why they are not coming on??
wellllllllll, lets start with the reverse lever question, no, you can not leave it out !. it has to be there to fill the case hole up for one, and for two, it has to be there to keep some dummy from slamming it into reverse while down shifting ?..this would eat the tranny a new one !..lol. as for the neutral and reverse lights ?, well, the neutral works off the end of the shift drum, the part that sticks out off the end, the high part, this makes contact with the neutral switch when the shift drum rotates around. same goes for the reverse switch, or in this case, the light, both of these have a push pin on the inside of the case sticking in, when the shift drum rotates around ( the high spot ) it makes contact, pushes the pin in on the switch.

Thanks for the reply shadetree, I realized after that I needed to plug the hole lol, on a good note the quad is running great! I did however let the spring stay loose to allow me to shift down, as for the nutral light all that was was a loose connection! Lol had her out for run today drove around 3km to get some water at a near by spring with no issues! Ready to haul some wood!

I have a friend who uses a wheelbarrow to drag all of his firewood up. He works at it all summer long every year. I talked to him yesterday and hes freaking... says he hasn't got enough time left to finish the woodpile! Guess who's gonna have to go bail him out... LOL

I'd put a coat hanger wire on the bike before I'd push a wheelbarrow load of wood through the mud!
