I have 2007 420 Rancher foot shift and was wondering how you can tell if the clutch is adjusted right. The reason I ask is because I was reading a diffrent artical about doing whellies and some one said if you lift up the foot selecter to the top and hold it there and give it gas the bike should not move. Well mine moves! any thoughts.

yeah..your clutch is outta wack. if you hold the shift lever up..while motor is running..the bike shouldn't move at all..loosen the clutch adjustment outter nut. and adjust it.

To adjust the clutch free play, loosen the locknut and slowly turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until you feel resistance. Then, turn the adjusting screw clockwise 1/4 turn and hold the adjusting screw while tightening the locknut.

If this don't get it adjusted exactly right, you may have to fine tune it by holding up on the shift lever. You want it to where it just barely stops moving when the shifter is being held up.
