Cleaning out old transfer case oil??

94 fourtrax 300 4x4 / trx300fw

I bought a used transfer case off eBay and all seems to be in great shape. All the bearings are tight and it spins real nice. But it smells awful and I want to clean out all the old oil that's in it.

I don't really want to open up case I don't think the gasket is readily available. Is there something I can run threw it to clean it out?

Also what do you guys run in your transfer case? I've seen guys fill them with marine grease.

I'd flush with diesel and then let it drip dry upside down, then fill with gear oil.

If you drain it well and fill it with oil I don't think you have to worry about anything firing off.
