Cleaning out old transfer case oil??

94 fourtrax 300 4x4 / trx300fw

I bought a used transfer case off eBay and all seems to be in great shape. All the bearings are tight and it spins real nice. But it smells awful and I want to clean out all the old oil that's in it.

I don't really want to open up case I don't think the gasket is readily available. Is there something I can run threw it to clean it out?

Also what do you guys run in your transfer case? I've seen guys fill them with marine grease.

I'd have no issue flushing it with diesel.

But I'd probably be more likely to just buy the correct gasket on eBay (Aftermaket) and split it correctly and clean it out.....
