I have an 04 350 FE and I'm changing the friction plates, I'm trying to get mostly everything I need, but don't have a Honda dealer near by. Anyone know the specs of the centrifugal and clutch locknut since the clymers is telling me to grind the other ones

Also to replace the gasket I got the red permatex high temp (is this fine?), will have to double check the exact type when I go back to the bike

Thanks in advance for help sorry if this is on the wrong post hard to find info on this bike

Factory service manual is here. Not sure what the clymers is telling you to "grind"

Do not use permatex. ONLY use Hondabond, Yamabond, or Threebond. Anything else will harden, and little bits of it will end up in your oil screen and do bad things to your engine.

The clymers is telling me the centrifugal clutch and the clutch basket both have locknuts that you indent the lip of the nut which locks it in place after you torque to spec. In order to get them off it says you need an angle grinder... I'll have to find somewhere with one of those bonds where I am don't have any dealerships here really

Thanks

Yikes don't take an angle grinder to the end of your crank! If you mess up those threads it will be game over. I agree, either use an impact or bend it with a pick/awl or small screwdriver. I just took one apart on an old 200sx yesterday and the impact took care of the indent by itself.
