case saver
I also thought it would be simple. Buuutt I went to put it on today, and I thought that the case saver goes on the outer side of the sproket then you put on the sproket cover.Really doesn't look like much protection for the stator cover. The issue is, the way I just described the install above looks right, but the mounting of the case saver is behind the stator cover maening I would have to have through bolts with nyloc nuts to hold the case saver to the stator cover. I always thought that the case saver would be put on, then the sproket cover on over the case saver, then you put the two bolts on to hold everything in place. Maybe I recieved the wrong part, like a 400ex saver. I would think a 400ex saver would be a little different though. Hopefully someone out there has put one on and can shed some light on this. Looking at this stock saver really draws the question of is it really a good part which actually would save your case if chain wrap/breakage occurs? Ooooor, does the case saver install behind the sproket close to the engine, only to save the engine case in the event of chain wrap?
