I picked up an original owner 86 200x. It had a knock in the motor and I gave him $900 for the three-wheeler including the trailer. If I didn't say it before it is an original owner sat for years.
Got her home to Georgia and kick it one time and she started and the engine was consuming something sounded like a rod. Remove the cylinder head and jug and saw choke screws being chewed up.
Sure nuff both choke screws missing out of the plate. This was an oem STD carburetor with a manual choke on the side controlling the choke plate.
fix the three-wheeler it ran fine without the choke plate installed but I wanted it better.
so I skipped all the 11 and $12 carburetors and went all the way to the $37 mikuni carburetor that I thought belong in the ATC.
problem I got the brand new carburetor and now the slide cap that screws on top of the carburetor is too big for the oemstd carb.
To restate I've got the new carburetor on there and the accelerator cable cap that screws down on top of the carburetor slide is too big the mikuni is smaller.
I would love to simply remove the cap from the oemstd and replace it with the mikuni cap but the cable and the cap of the oemstd is or seems to be pressed together and non-removable.
it looks as though I have to buy a throttle cable for an 8687 Honda ATV but I don't want to order this throttle cable and have it be the wrong size how can I be assured it fits the mikuni carb with the smaller slide. or am I missing something here and I can simply swap from this cable.
I will try to include pictures of the bigger oemstd slide cap and the newer smaller mikuni slide cat with the intrical no plate choke. In other words the older carburetor has a choke plate and I do not want my ATV eating screws again so the mikuni is one that has the choke mechanism internally without a choke plate.
and I'm thinking if I corrected isn't that the original card that came with it without a choke plate for the 8687?
